History

Abbotsford’s history is deeply connected to the Stó:lō First Nation, whose people have lived in the Fraser Valley for thousands of years. European settlement expanded in the late 19th century, and the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1880s helped establish the area as an important agricultural community.
